Babita was VP & Business Head in the JWT Mumbai office till July 2010, managing an eclectic and challenging portfolio of finance, beauty, lifestyle and food which included Godrej Consumer Products, DeBeers, Kotak Credit Cards, Kotak Life Insurance & Securities, Johnson & Johnson,Kingfisher Airlines, Aditya Birla Capital, Big 92.7FM, Kelloggs, Star World & Movies , World Gold Council and Knorr.
She also led Unilever’s Sunsilk and Rin brand in South Asia .Babita currently leads the Nokia business in JWT Delhi and is a Business Partner on Provoke, a strategic consulting arm of HTA.
She was a member of the JWT team that launched the successful Sunsilk Gang of Girls website and has worked on brands like Pepsi , Bata, Emami and Wills in JWT Kolkata.
Babita is a proud recipient of the British Chevening Scholarship – one of the 12 top Indian women professionals to have been selected for the leadership and management course in the UK in 2004.
She has been nominated by the Campaign India A-List 2010 and 2011 as one of the top 500 influential marketing professionals in the country.
Babita has a first class degree in economics and an MBA in marketing.
She is passionate about her role as visiting faculty to SP Jain Institute of Management in Mumbai,IIM Shillong, IIFT Delhi, IIPM Delhi, JIMS Delhi, and LBSIM Delhi. She is an equally passionate blogger, writing regularly for Campaign India on Advertising and Marketing as well as her personal blog — Random Ramblings.
A voracious reader, she wishes to be buried with The Thornbirds and The Alchemist.
